Broadcast: NOCLAR - no clue?
Matthew Joiner, Partner, Cor Cordis
Recent amendments to APES110 Code of Ethics known as NOCLAR became effective 1 January 2018. Members who are also members of CA ANZ, CPA Australia and the Institute of Public Accountants are bound by APES 110 and are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the NOCLAR requirements, Responding to Non-Compliance with Laws and Regulations.
Accountants must consider their obligations if they uncover or suspect illegal acts during the course of their professional work. The amendments provide guidance on various courses of action when responding to a suspected illegal act, such as fraud, corruption, money laundering and proceeds of crime.
Although an administrator, controller and liquidator’s reporting obligations include reporting any possible civil and criminal offences to ASIC, a practitioner engaged in advisory or consulting work must ensure they are familiar with their NOCLAR obligations.
Matthew will explain the NOCLAR requirements, how they apply to members, how they work with a duty of confidentiality as well as a comparison of the old and new requirements to address suspected illegal activity.
This session is broadcasting live from Brisbane. Attendees will be able to see and hear the presentation live, and ask questions from their location in Cairns.
