Vale Ross Duus – former ARITA President & Life Member

21/04/2020

It is with great sadness that we note the passing of Ross Duus on Friday 3 April.

Ross had a distinguished career as an insolvency practitioner and Partner of Ernst & Young.

He was the 38th member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia (which became ARITA) and he served as President from 1997 to 1999. Ross was made a Life Member in 2008.

Ross was master of ceremonies at several national conference dinners and he was renowned for his dry sense of humour and hearty laugh.

He is remembered fondly by his peers as 'a legend', 'a character', 'caring and wise', and 'a wonderful man'.

Described as a 'true Queenslander', Ross played 57 grade matches for the GPS Rugby Union Club in Brisbane in the late 1970s and was later the club's Treasurer.

Ross died peacefully surrounded by his wife Carole and immediate family.

Tributes and memories are welcomed on the Ross Duus Memorial Facebook Page.

The family will advise details of a memorial service to be held at a later time.

We offer our deepest condolences to Ross's family and loved ones at this very difficult time.
