Submission: ASIC registry stabilisation and uplift consultation

ARITA will be making a submission to Treasury on draft laws to improve Australia’s business registers.

The draft legislation consultation is seeking feedback on:

• linking Director Identification Numbers (Director IDs) to the Company Register
• giving ASIC new registry powers
• removing Modernising Business Registers (MBR) legislation.

 
ARITA supports the linking of Director IDs to the Company Register as an important step in detecting and preventing phoenix activity. ARITA will be making a submission.

The consultation period closes on 10 February.
