Submission: ASIC calls for further regulatory simplification proposals
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission is calling for further regulatory simplification proposals, following the release of a report exploring ways to simplify regulation and ease regulatory burden.
The report, Regulatory Simplification, seeks additional input on a range of initiatives that have been implemented to make regulation more accessible while maintaining strong consumer protections.
ARITA will be making a submission to the consultation, restating our previous position that access to ASIC Registers should be free for insolvency practitioners, as the information enables practitioners to make informed decisions about current and future administrations. Previously proposed reforms to this effect have not progressed due to the cessation of the Modernising Business Registers project.
Any feedback for ARITA’s submission can be sent to [email protected]
Alternatively, direct submissions to ASIC on simplification proposals can be made anonymously or via email to [email protected] by 15 October 2025.
